Merit Badge Counselor List (Excel Document)

If you name is on the list of Merit Badge counselor needing to take Youth Protection Training, just head over to http://olc.scouting.org/ and take the Youth Protection Training online course. Once you have taken course and recieved your certification, just bring a copy to the next Roundtable or send it to our District Advancement Chair, Gina Clifton, at wiibescouting@gmail.com. 

 


 

Interested in becoming a Merit Badge Counselor? Here is how:

First, you need to fill out an BSA Adult Leader Application. These can be found at the District Roundtable, with your local Boy Scout Troop, or online at the Scouting Forms From the National Council Website.

Second, you need to take the Youth Protection Training course, offered online at http://olc.scouting.org/. Select Youth Protection Training, you will need to create an account if you are not already a registered leader with the Boy Scouts of America. Once you have completed the Boy Scout Youth Protection Training, print out the certificate and keep it with your applcation.

Third, you need to completely fill out the Merit Badge Counselor Application, found here in pdf form.

Lastly, all 3 forms (Adult Application, Youth Protection Certificate, and Merit Badge Councselor Applicaiton) need to be turned into the Sand Lake District Advancement Chair, Jerry Norton, at jmnrtn@mindspring.net or you can fax the documents to the Council Office at (407)889-4406.
