Matt started out as a Boy Scout volunteer in 1987 with the Central Florida Council Boy Scouts. During the summers of 1994 and 1995 for one week, Matt directed the Tuscarora District Day Camp. In June 1995, Matt was hired as a District Executive for Halifax District. In May 1997, Matt was promoted to the larger district of Semoran Springs to serve as their District Executive. Then in October 1, 1997, Matt was promoted to the position of Director of Camps & Properties at Camp La-No-Che. Then in April 2009, Matt was promoted to the Director of Support Services. Matt has directed thirteen summer camps at Camp La-No-Che, created new camp programs and work with the Council Physical Resource Committee leading the Council Camp Capital Building Projects. During the summer of 1998, Camp La-No-Che had an attendance of 2100 Boy Scouts. Then in the summer of 1999, we saw an increase to 2300 Boy Scouts. The summer of 2000, Camp La-No-Che had over a 31% increase of Boy Scouts for a total of 3041 Boy Scouts attending during the seven weeks. In 2007, Summer Camp attendance grew to 3260 Boy Scouts. Matt is certified as a Camp Director and Program Director by the Boy Scout National Camp School. Camp La-No-Che continues it’s rich tradition of doing our best by completing 100% of the Boy Scouts National Camp Standards. Currently, we are accredited by the National Boy Scouts of America. Also, our fall, winter and spring seasons have grown with the weekends full in camp programs such as Cub Scout Resident Camps, Council & District Camping and Training events, Adventure Camp growth in COPE, Alpine Tower and Climbing and off season Camp Treks to the Ocala National Forest and the Central Florida Attractions.

Matt enjoys the outdoors, being active by jogging and playing soccer during Summer Camp with camp staff and campers. Matt is married to Pam and they have a son and twin daughters.

Kathy has worked at Camp La-No-Che since 1989 starting part time in the kitchen. Kathy was hired to start working in the camp office full time in 1995. Kathy is an important staff to meet and she is very happy to help you. Kathy is our Certified Food Manager and Boy Scout National Camp School certified as a Camp Management/Camp Director. Kathy is currently the Camp Director.

Matthew grew up right down the road from Camp La-No-Che. Matthew is an Eagle Scout and Gold Award Winner. Matthew served as a Chapter Chief for Wewahitchka Chapter and is a Vigil Honor member of the Order of the Arrow. Matthew is a graduate of J.L.T.C., Powderhorn,Wood Badge Course SR-584, Buffalo Patrol, and has served on staff for two Wood Badge Courses. Matthew was also on the staff of Central Florida Council’s Inaugural N.Y.L.T. Course and served as the N.Y.L.T. Course Director in 2009. Matthew joined the Camp La-No-Che Summer Camp Staff in 1999 as a C.I.T. Matthew was promoted to the Ecology Area Director in 2004, Program Director in 2007, and Asst. Camp Director in 2008. Matthew is National Camp School Certified as a Program Director and Camp Management/Camp Director. Matthew currently serves as the Asst. Camp Director.
